About Yashin “Inchworm” Phillips

Yashin “Inchworm” Phillips is a Los Angeles–based host, filmmaker, and visionary storyteller dedicated to creating art that sparks connection, courage, and change.

Born and raised in Evanston and Zion, Illinois, Yashin earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Communication, Media, and Theatre from Northeastern Illinois University — a foundation that fueled her lifelong passion for storytelling and community impact.

Affectionately nicknamed “Inchworm” by her great-grandmother for the way she “wiggled” with joy and rhythm, Yashin carries that same spirit into her creative work today — inching and wiggling her way toward her dreams, one bold step at a time.

As the founder of Inchworm Entertainment LLC, she has built a platform that merges creativity with purpose — from The Inchworm Show, where she’s interviewed everyone from local leaders to everyday heroes, to her acclaimed short films No More (on colorism) and Lost N Found (on sex trafficking).

Her latest project, “Wiggling on the Street,” brings the stories, stars, and spirit of the Hollywood Walk of Fame to life — blending history, humor, and heart through her unique lens.

Rooted in her belief that ignorance can be healed through interaction, Yashin continues to use her voice and vision to highlight real stories, elevate underrepresented voices, and remind audiences that every inch of progress counts.
